Victorian Riichi Mahjong League (VicRML)
Leaderboard
What
Weekly competitive league. Players are expected to know all the rules of riichi, be familiar with scoring (knowing which yaku a hand has and their han value), and be able to play at a reasonable pace (e.g. a 5 second discard timer).
The league will run for 2 months, followed by a final 8 hanchan for the top 8 players to determine a champion. Prizes are TBA.
When
The first season will run from March 11 to April 29. Game scores will be recorded from games played on Tuesdays at Fortress Melbourne, from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Players can play as many hanchan as they wish for that day. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP on the Discord event.
Hanchan timers are at 80 minutes with no additional overtime.
Tables will be formed on a first come first serve basis. If there are uneven numbers, you may need to wait for more players or for the current hanchan to finish. Players who have played less games on that day will have priority for seating in the next hanchan/round.
If you are attending, be sure to RSVP on the Discord event.
The finals will also be played at Fortress Melbourne after the regular season.
How
Hanchan timer starts at the roll of the dice for the first wall break and draw.
First place posts the scores in the Discord.
Other players should verify the scores posted are correct.
Scores will be collated and leaderboard displayed.
To qualify for the finals, players must have had at least 15 hanchan recorded.
Registration
Register via this Google Forms link (opens a new tab).
The entry fee is $30 for the entire season, which can be paid to the organisers at the venue.
Players must be in the Discord server in order for their scores to be counted, and so that they can post and check game scores.
All communication will be through the server.
